About what?

Gromov--Hausdorff (GH) distance provides a metric on isometry classes of compact metric spaces. Despite its importance in geometry, exact values are known only in a very limited number of cases. We will get acquainted with the notion of GH distance, develop some properties, and look at examples. If time permits, we will explore the connection with Vietoris-Rips complexes.
